What is safety flooring and how can it benefit my company

One of the most common reasons for injuries in the workplace are due to trips, slips and falls. With this in mind, if you’re worried about spillages in a certain area, or have places in your building with significant foot traffic, you may have a need for implementing safety flooring somewhere on your premises.

What is safety flooring?

Safety flooring, otherwise known as ‘non slip’ flooring, is specially designed to prevent slips and minimise the level of risk in areas that are prone to spillages or have a high number of people passing throughout the day. Whether its grease, water, or spillage from food/drink safety flooring can prevent accidents happening.

What are the benefits of safety flooring?

Slip resistance

The most important benefit of safety flooring is its ability to prevent accidents happening in certain areas. Whether it’s in a kitchen, bathroom or hallway – safety flooring has a slip resistant layer which greatly decreases the risk of an accident taking place.

Not difficult to clean

Safety flooring is also incredibly low maintenance, meaning it doesn’t take much to clean it. This is because it is manufactured not to absorb moisture that occurs from spillages. In addition, this makes it a great choice for hospitals or other healthcare premises as it doesn’t absorb bacteria either.

Extremely durable

Not only is it low maintenance, safety flooring is also highly durable. Making it an ideal choice for areas with a high level of foot traffic. You don’t have to worry about making constant repairs or replacing your flooring often.

Easy to walk on

Whilst it might not always be at the forefront of your mind when choosing your flooring option, if you run a business where people are on their feet for the majority of the day. You don’t want to have a flooring option that is difficult or uncomfortable to walk on.
